Unioncamere Europa, in collaboration with APRE – the Italian Agency for the Promotion of European Research, has launched a training programme dedicated to Horizon Europe, the European Union’s Framework Programme for Research and Innovation.

The initiative aims to strengthen the skills of the Italian Chamber System in identifying opportunities under Horizon Europe, developing European project proposals and addressing the operational aspects of participation in calls for proposals. The programme follows a progressive approach, moving from a general introduction to more technical sessions on project design and legal and financial aspects.

The first online webinar, “Introduction to Horizon Europe: 2026–2027 opportunities and towards the next Framework Programme”, will take place on 12 May 2026, from 11:00 to 12:30.

The session will provide an overview of Horizon Europe within the broader context of EU policies, focusing on the programme structure, the 2026–2027 Work Programmes, participation rules and the first practical steps for navigating calls for proposals. It will also look ahead to the next programming period for 2028–2034.

The speaker will be Serena Borgna, Head of the Institutional Activities Department at APRE.

The training programme will continue with further sessions on 21–22 September 2026, dedicated to designing Horizon Europe project proposals, and on 20–21 October 2026, focusing on the legal and financial aspects of Horizon Europe.

The training sessions will be held in Italian and are reserved exclusively for staff of the Italian Chamber System.
