What We Do

Representation and Advocacy

We advocate for the interests of the Italian Chamber of commerce System through a structured approach to representation and lobbying at the European level.

We play an active role in the European Union’s debate and decision-making process by drafting and disseminating position papers, participating in public consultations, and engaging in high-level meetings, events, and European Commission working groups. Furthermore, we ensure constant monitoring of the key legislative dossiers that impact our network.

EU Policy Monitoring

We closely monitor the evolution of European Union policies and initiatives, with a specific focus on key dossiers regarding digitalization, sustainability, entrepreneurship, education and training, administrative simplification, employment, tourism, and culture.

We ensure constant and timely monitoring to support the strategic actions of the Italian Chamber of commerce System.

Research and Innovation

We are members of APRE (Agency for the Promotion of European Research) and actively participate in European networks and partnerships dedicated to research and innovation.

We collaborate with the Polytechnic University of Turin, hosting its representative office in Brussels, as well as with universities and research institutions. We facilitate the connection between the Italian Chamber of Commerce System, the research community, and European innovation policies.

Services and Training

We offer targeted training activities and services to support the Italian Chamber network, strengthening its expertise and effectiveness within the European context while supporting development and innovation pathways for the business community.

Our Networks

Unioncamere Europa operates within European networks and partnerships to strengthen the standing of the Italian Chamber system and facilitate its coordination at European Union level.

In this context, Unioncamere Europa collaborates with APRE (the Agency for the Promotion of European Research) and the network of European public chamber systems. It actively participates in the activities of Eurochambres (the Association of European Chambers of Commerce), contributing to thematic committees and working groups, engaging in European policy dialogue, and developing joint initiatives to boost business competitiveness.

Furthermore, Unioncamere Europa represents and assists sectoral and territorial networks, such as EBRA, encouraging the exchange of best practices and European cooperation. Simultaneously, Unioncamere Europa is part of the Gruppo di Iniziativa Italiana (GII)—the primary network for Italian representation in Brussels—alongside institutions, universities, businesses, and trade associations. It plays an active role in coordinating and supporting Italian chamber structures based in Brussels, including the regional unions of Piedmont, Campania, and Veneto, as well as the Italian-Belgian Chamber of Commerce, thereby reinforcing Italy’s presence in Europe.
