Unioncamere Europa was pleased to take part in the kick-off meeting of the E.U-Re.C.o.V.E - European CoVE for Urban Regeneration project, held on 27-28 April in Rome at the premises of Forma Camera - the Rome Chamber of commerce’s Special Agency for entrepreneurial training, coordinator of the project. The meeting officially launched an ambitious European collaboration focused on building Centres of Vocational Excellence for skills, innovation and social urban regeneration across Europe.
Represented by Ana Sarateanu, director, and Costanza Gariglio, Junior project communication officer, Unioncamere Europa joined project partners for two days of exchange, planning and discussion. The consortium brings together organisations from Italy, Spain, Greece and Poland, where the project’s Territorial Units of Vocational Excellence will be implemented, as well as partners from Belgium and Serbia, contributing to the project’s European and transnational dimension.
The meeting provided an important opportunity to align on the project’s objectives, implementation methodology, work packages, communication activities and next steps, while also strengthening cooperation among the organisations involved.
The E.U-Re.C.o.V.E project aims to develop a transnational ecosystem of Vocational Excellence dedicated to social urban regeneration. The initiative will connect Territorial Units of Vocational Excellence in Italy, Spain, Greece and Poland and support the development of innovative, flexible and learner-centred training models. By integrating digital, green and social skills, the project seeks to respond to key urban challenges such as social inclusion, sustainability, civic participation and local economic development.
At the heart of the project is the idea that urban regeneration goes beyond the physical transformation of spaces. It is also a social, educational and economic process that can strengthen communities, create new skills, support local businesses and contribute to more liveable, inclusive and resilient cities. Through cooperation between education and training providers, businesses, public institutions, local communities and other stakeholders, E.U-Re.C.o.V.E will foster new learning pathways and promote a shared European approach to urban transformation.
During the kick-off meeting, partners discussed the project’s main areas of work, including the development of the E.U-Re.C.o.V.E system, training activities for different learner groups, communication and dissemination, project management, governance and financial aspects.
As a project partner, Unioncamere Europa will contribute to activities related to skills, innovation and social urban regeneration, while supporting the communication, dissemination and visibility of the project’s results at European level. It also represents a meaningful step of the office into the European project landscape, strengthening its role in connecting the Chamber system with European cooperation opportunities.
The kick-off meeting marked a first important step in the implementation of E.U-Re.C.o.V.E and confirmed the strong engagement of the partnership. In the coming years, the project will work to create new training opportunities, strengthen transnational cooperation and contribute to the development of more inclusive, sustainable and resilient cities, where education becomes a true driver of transformation.
